Shipping policy
1. Order Processing & Dispatch
- Cut-off: Orders placed by 1:00 PM NZT on business days are typically dispatched the same day. Orders after 1:00 PM, weekends or public holidays dispatch the next business day.
- Verification: Orders pending VIN/fitment confirmation, payment checks, or fraud screening may be delayed until verified.
- Pre-orders / backorders: If an item is not in stock, we’ll email an ETA and ship when available (split shipments may occur).
2. Delivery Timeframes (New Zealand)
Timeframes are estimates once dispatched and may vary with carrier network conditions:
- Auckland Metro: Same-day courier may be available for in-stock items ordered before 1:00 PM (weekday) — contact us to confirm.
- North Island (standard): ~1–3 business days
- South Island (standard): ~2–5 business days
- Rural (RD) / remote: please allow an extra 1–3 business days
Note: Delivery estimates exclude weekends/public holidays and may extend during peak seasons or severe weather.
3. Shipping Rates
- Small/standard items: Flat or carrier-calculated rate shown at checkout.
- Bulky/oversize freight (e.g., bumpers, impact bars, radiators): Sent via road freight. Rates depend on size, weight, destination, and whether delivery is to a residential or commercial address.
- Rural surcharges may apply for RD addresses.
4. Packaging & Oversize Freight
- Oversize parts ship in protective packaging; please retain all packaging until you are satisfied with the item.
- For bulky deliveries, a signature on delivery may be required. If damage is visible, note it on the driver’s proof of delivery (POD) and photograph before unboxing.
5. Tracking & Delivery
- Tracking: We’ll email tracking once your order ships.
- Authority To Leave (ATL): If you opt for ATL (no signature), the parcel may be left at your address and you accept responsibility for loss after delivery scan.
- PO Boxes/Parcel Lockers: Not available for bulky/oversize items.
- Redelivery/undeliverable: If delivery fails due to incorrect address, missed collection, or refusal, redelivery and return costs may be charged.
6. International Shipping
- Selected international destinations may be available at checkout (e.g., Australia). Contact us for quotes on bulky items.
- Duties & taxes: International customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, brokerage, and clearance fees.
- Customs inspections may delay delivery beyond our estimates.
7. Carrier Damage, Defects, or Wrong Item
If your parcel arrives damaged, appears tampered, or the item is defective/incorrect, please email info@tasmanparts.co.nz within 48 hours of delivery with:
- Order number
- Photos of the outer carton, shipping label, internal packaging, and the item
- Short description of the issue
Tasman-arranged shipping: Once confirmed, we will repair, replace, or refund (at our discretion) and cover return shipping. Keep all packaging for the carrier investigation.
Customer-arranged carriers / collection: If you nominate your own carrier or collect the goods, title and risk pass on pickup. Please claim directly with your carrier; we’ll assist with documentation.
8. Title & Risk of Loss
Unless stated otherwise in your order confirmation or required by law, title and risk of loss pass when goods are handed to the carrier. Notwithstanding the foregoing, for Tasman-arranged shipping
